It has become a tradition that while creating seasonal gifts, we also set the bar high for ourselves. Each year we aspire to surpass what we achieved in the previous one.

The Challenge

As was the case in previous seasons, for the 2022-2023 season, the entire Division team gathered for a brainstorming session. This time, we came up with the idea to create an original Division Vision board game.

The Solution

First of all, we needed a story to base the game on.

In line with our identity of problem solvers located in the world of cyberpunk and film noir, our copywriter devised a story in which Division City finds itself under threat from the notorious computer virus Concept.Trash, which is soon activated and spread through networks, destroying mankind’s creativity.

The catastrophe can be prevented only if somebody disables the virus by entering into the computer laboratory of Malicious Pulp, the villain who created the virus. And that is where the special Division team comes into play.

The following step was to transfer the story onto the board and design the game’s mechanics. The board consisted of fields which players had to pass to reach the ultimate field – that is, the computer laboratory of Malicious Pulp.

Wanting to transfer our daily challenges and teamwork into the game in an entertaining way, while also making the game a bit more complex, eventually we conceived a series of creative challenges that had to be successfully resolved to progress on the board. These challenges, such as Articulate, Rhyme Time, Panto Meme and others, always had to be dealt with as a team – that is, by two players cooperating.

In the end, it is the teamwork that counts. So, to successfully finish the game all the team members had to reach the computer laboratory of Malicious Pulp within a certain time.

After creating the story, the game’s mechanics and rules, determining the timing, testing the gameplay and making necessary adjustments, it was time for our designers to do what they are best at.

The cherry on top was certainly the mini figures of our team members. They were first 2D vector-illustrated by our designers and then our partners transferred them into the 3D environment and brought them to life using 3D printing technology.

In order to make the game complete, in addition to the mini figures, it was necessary to design and make an attractive quality box, a board, a notepad, a booklet with the story and rules, cards with challenges, the “Countdown Clock” card and marker and the “My Turn” card. In addition to that, we provided branded pencils and D8 dice.

The Result

Through such a project, we have the opportunity to show what can be achieved by combining powerful teamwork, creative freedom, cooperation with reliable production partners and the use of modern technologies.

Eventually, we were thrilled by the positive feedback from our clients and partners, and were happy to present them with a unique gift enabling them to spend time with their loved ones in a quality and entertaining way.
