The Journey

The main aim of our client was to develop a digital platform for patients and doctors where they can connect with each other and the patient can book appointments for taking medical services within their reach. The project should give the real-time live status of the queue and notify patients about their appointment status so that they won’t have to wait for their turn.

How Otboo Can Save Patients and Doctors Time During the Consultation?

To find out the answers, we scrutinize the healthcare market and find out that 75% of consumer’s surveyed said technology is important in managing their health.

Approximately 48% of people are using mHealth apps. All these figures clearly show that mobile apps have become a part of our daily life. Here we took the advantage and designed an Otboo. It provides a platform where patients can easily book their preferred doctor as well as can track the live queue status of their appointment at their convenience and fingertips. Otboo is one of the facile and convenient substitutes that can easily connect you with hundreds of local doctors and schedule your appointment accordingly.

​Challenges That We Faced During the Process

Challenges faced by our developers during the development process are:

• Notify all the patients when the doctor arrives at the office via SMS or app notification
• Live Queue – To show real-time data to Patient & Doctor / Clinic
• Reschedule Appointments
• Block Appointments
• The language was one of the biggest restraint faced by our development team during the app launch. To deal with this problem, our experienced development team integrated third party tools and SDK which allows an app to load the selected language.

Solutions

The client wanted a doctor’s appointment booking mobile app that would be in streamline with the established business identity of our clients. Therefore Consagous planned, designed and developed Otboo mobile app by keeping their requirements in the mind.

Our development team worked on the designs for Android and iOS simultaneously to ensure that the apps for both platforms adhered to the same style while catering to their specific design standards. Our seamless communication with the client and cross-team collaboration enabled us to promptly deliver the mobile apps on time.

What Did We Do?

There are now nearly 318,000 healthcare mobile apps are available on the top app stores worldwide. The “global mHealth app market is projected to be valued at US$28.320 billion in 2018 and is expected to reach up to US$102.35 billion by 2023”.

To make our app different from the existing doctor’s appointment scheduling app, we used the latest technologies and design methodology to offer real-time live status of the queue and notify patients about their appointment status so that they won’t have to wait for their turn.

Results

Otboo is now available on Google Play and App Store. It was launched by the client as an effective appointment scheduling mobile app across the world to reduce the waiting time of patients to a considerable extent.
