About the Project: This case study was conducted by the agency Modicum to analyze the success of a pitch submitted to YouTube’s for its 10th anniversary. Main Challenge(s): Capturing YouTube’s brand in simplistic yet powerful graphic designs. Agency Solution(s): Their designer Gregg found inspiration in the strangest of places, a near-hallucinatory state induced by fever. And, due to this lack of designer self-censorship, ended up creating powerful and poignant images that properly embody YouTube as a brand. Results: The results of this campaign were staggering, YouTube was ecstatic with the results and retweeted/shared all 22 graphic designs Gregg created for their 10 year anniversary, proving that simplistic yet “homemade” graphics represent what YouTube is as a platform, a place for everyone created by a small group, a labor of love.
